We are officially half way through 2024 and it is a great time to reflect on where you are in life. Personally, I have been spending a lot of time existing and doing things that bring me joy. This does not mean that I have stopped working towards my goals, but I am now doing it in a way that brings me peace and clarity.
In the beginning of the year I was committed to “getting things done.” I wasn’t really thinking about the impact it was having on my body or mental health. I was leaning more towards my masculine side and neglecting my feminine side. I naturally began to stray away from this all or nothing attitude and lean more towards alignment.
Alignment is harmony. It is a state where your words, thoughts and actions are one. It is when you show up every single day in service of your greater purpose in life. It is not a constant state of striving or yearning. It is a state of existence. It is a place of contentment and satisfaction without complacency.
My choices are aligned with my values, my core beliefs, that are authentic to me and not imposed by others. I am not in competition with external benchmarks or expectations. I live my life through my own standards and only look for validation from myself.
Below are some reflection questions, written by Colby Kultgen that I came across this week. It offers an insight into whether you are living a life based on your own internal beliefs or living for external validation. Take time to reflect on these questions and get clear on what you want the rest of 2024 to feel like.
Career: Are you proud of your work without comparing it to others' achievements?
Hobbies: Do you enjoy your hobbies just for the fun of it, not for praise?
Health: Does your health routine make you feel good, regardless of others' fitness levels?
Finances: Are you happy with your financial choices without comparing to others' wealth?
Personal growth: Are you learning and growing for yourself, not to match others?
